It's been nearly ten years since four passenger aircraft were used in the most infamous terrorist assault in the United States. Ten years ago, on a sunny Tuesday morning, the Twin Towers in New York fell, the Pentagon was hit, and passengers averted terrorist's plans, striking a field in Pennsylvania. At last, the formal Manhattan memorial to those we lost, and for the world's reflection on that event, will be opened this September.
To visit the September 11 Memorial, set to open just after the tenth anniversary, get tickets here: http://www.911memorial.org/visitor-passes
I created a personal page reflecting on that day, in a broad yet personal way. The page includes links to some sites worthy of a visit, such as a web cam site that has been watching the WTC site since that fateful day in the fall of 2001, and has archives from prior to that sad day.
